The data contain metrics of risk to earthworms, springtails, lacewings, parasitic wasps, bumblebees, honeybees and two solitary bees (Osmia bicornis and Osmia cornuta) from exposure to pesticides applied to arable crops in 5 Km grid cells in England every other year from 1994 to 2016. The metrics were derived from pesticide application rates and toxicity metrics from exotoxicology experiments. The data was derived to investigate spatial and temporal patterns of risk from exposure to pesticides for non-target invertebrates.

Provenance & quality

The risk metrics were generated from chemical application data combined with lab-derived metrics of active ingredient toxicity. The pesticide application data were derived from the Pesticide Usage Survey, supplied at a regional scale and downscaled to 5 Km grid cells using the agCensus data on crops.
